Causearch was an idea Beau Damion Shimkus had in 2008. What if you could take something people do every day and turn it into a way to raise money? Over $8 billon dollars is generated yearly by search engine marketing for pay per clicks, display and social media advertising. What if you could direct a small portion of that money to non-profit organizations who have a positive cause? With the help of Yahoo! and Benefitbar, Causearch was launched on January 1st, 2009 with this idea at its base.
Causearch is a search engine which donates a minimum of 2.5 cents per sponsored click to the charities. Every quarter; Causearch works with an organization and promotes the charity on the search engine and through other various methods. As users visit and search on Causearch, money is raised for that organization. At the end of their quarter, proceeds that are raised are then donated to their cause. Causearch is powered by Yahoo!, which means when you search Causearch you get the same results you would see on any other search engine.
So how is the money raised for the organization you ask? The money Causearch donates to the cause comes from its advertisers. When you use Causearch; "sponsor results" show up at the top and side of our results page. Every time a user clicks a sponsored result link, money is raised and donated through us. It doesn’t cost the user or the charity a dime. Since it doesn’t cost anything to use and you get the same results you would on any other search engine; why wouldn’t you use it? The more users who search and click the sponsor links, the more money is raised and donated for the cause!
Our objective is to help as many non-profit organizations as possible. We want to help them reach their goals and be able to help our society today. Causearch also wants to get people connected to these organizations. To have people know and feel that they are helping to make the world a better place. We know that deep down, doing the right thing and helping out a worthwhile cause is something everyone wants to do.
Search on Causearch, get your results and know that your clicks on those sponsored results go to support a worthy cause!

Flagler Volunteer Services, Inc. (FVS) was formed in 2000. Its original purpose was to provide sponsorship of Flagler County’s Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). However, the corporation papers were created intentionally leaving an opening for Flagler Volunteer Services to expand to meet additional future needs in the area. In June of 2005, Flagler Volunteer Services, Inc. was designated an official Volunteer Center by Volunteer Florida allowing our agency to serve volunteers of all ages.
Our agency’s goal is to meet community needs through volunteer services. To help meet this goal we conduct the following programs:

Flagler Volunteer Services - Program Achievements
Retired & Senior Volunteer Program – The primary goal of RSVP is to provide meaningful volunteer opportunities to seniors in Flagler County and to encourage seniors to stay active by volunteering their services to meet community needs. The benefits of the program are two-fold, in that they include the impact to the agencies that utilize the volunteers and the impact to the volunteers themselves. The following is information on the benefits to the volunteers that participated this past year.
The RSVP Giving Store – The RSVP Giving Store allows children who would otherwise be unable to purchase gifts for their family members the opportunity to select a gift free of charge for everyone who lives in their household. The Giving Store teaches these children “The Joy of Giving”.
The Flagler County Blanketeers – The Blanketeers provide hand-made items to people facing crisis. These items include baby blankets, lap robes, shawls, baby outfits, helmet liners, hats and other miscellaneous items. These items are given to people going through chemo, dialysis, facing unplanned pregnancies, teen mothers, disaster victims, crime victims, soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanastin, migrant workers and many more.
Volunteer Recognition Flagler Volunteer Services believes in the importance of recognizing volunteers for their efforts to make a difference within our community. In 2008, Flagler Volunteer Services held the volunteer recognition event for our volunteers:
